For over 40 years, Cotswold Carriers has provided professional, friendly service to families, individuals, and businesses moving across the UK and to and from Europe.
We take pride in our reputation as reliable removers who put our clients at the heart of everything we do, and as longstanding members of the British Association of Removers (BAR), we uphold the very highest industry standards to give you complete confidence.

What Is The British Association Of Removers (BAR)?
The British Association of Removers is the UK moving and storage industry's dedicated trade association.
Established over a century ago, the BAR promotes professional standards, protects consumer rights, and ensures moving companies operate with integrity, safety, and operational excellence.
To display the BAR badge, a moving company must undergo rigorous safety, operational, and customer service audits. Choosing BAR-accredited removers like Cotswold Carriers means you can trust that an established specialist, backed by strict regulatory frameworks, will treat your belongings with the utmost care.

The Benefits Of Choosing BAR Accredited Removers
Relocations are a major life event, and working with reputable removers who hold BAR accreditation helps safeguard your home or business move every step of the way.
Trading Standards Approved
BAR members operate under a Code of Practice approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI), which ensures transparent pricing, fair terms and conditions, clear communication, and high operational standards across all removal and storage services.
Payment Protection For Home Moves
BAR members provide an Advanced Payment Guarantee. If a BAR member company experiences financial issues before your move date, your advance payment is protected, ensuring your relocation proceeds as planned or your money is fully refunded.
Free Independent Dispute Resolution
At Cotswold Carriers, customer satisfaction is our top priority. If a dispute arises that cannot be settled through our internal channels, you will never be left without support.
As BAR-accredited removers, we protect you with a clear, free, and impartial dispute resolution system handled by the Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman (FHIO).
As an approved body under the Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes Regulations 2015, the FHIO provides impartial, expert, and binding outcomes to safeguard your rights at every stage.
The Dispute Process
- Internal Complaint: If you experience an issue, contact us directly in writing or via email outlining your concern and desired resolution. You can expect an initial response within three working days. You must bring any complaint to us within 12 months of the move date.
- Escalation To The Ombudsman: If we cannot agree on a resolution internally and a final viewpoint letter has been issued, or if 12 weeks have elapsed since you raised the complaint, you may submit your claim directly to the FHIO.
- Impartial Investigation: The FHIO’s resolution team will investigate your claim impartially and free of charge. You may handle the application yourself or nominate a representative to assist you.
- Binding Resolution: If the Ombudsman makes an award or decision in your favour, the ruling is legally binding on the BAR member, guaranteeing full accountability and fairness.
